Considering the demanding nature of the activities of the adventure courses, only healthy and physically fit individuals are encouraged to apply for the courses. Individuals suffering with the following conditions/ ailments/ diseases are categorically advised not to apply.
- Pregnancy
- Neurological Diseases
- Pulmonary Diseases
- Cardiac Diseases
- Severe Systemic Hypertension
- Pulmonary Hypertension
- Raynaud’s Disease
- Severe Psychiatric Disorders
- Severe Endocrine Disorders
- Hematological Disorders
- Renal Disorders/ Diseases
- Musculoskeletal Diseases / Defects
- Musculoskeletal Diseases / Defects
- Vascular Diseases / Defects
- H/O HAPE or HACE
- Any other medical condition that might aggravate with challenging physical activities.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONING BEFORE THE COURSE
- Incorporate cardio and strength training exercises into your daily routine to gradually build up your stamina over at least 2 months prior to admission to the selected adventure course.
- Proper warm up, cool down and stretching exercises are recommended to avoid tissue injuries that might arise due to sudden strenuous movements.
- Maintain adequate hydration and healthy diet at all times. Avoid processed sugar, excess salt and unhealthy fats/oils.
- Practice different breathing techniques like Pranayama to maintain healthy respiratory function.
- Avoid consumption/use of alcohol and tobacco products.
